The 3 Must-Visit Zones of the Jim Corbett Park

The Jim Corbett National Park is recognized as one of the largest national parks in India, which covers an area of 201.1.sq mi. As such a huge national park is quite difficult to manage, it is divided into six prominent zones. Each of the zones has its beauty and attraction. The zones are:


1. The Dhikala Zone:

The Dhikala zone is the most recognized and largest zone of Corbett Park. It is located on the edge of the Patli Dun Valley and is accessible to tourists between November to June. This zone is mostly visited by tourists to get a sight of the Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Elephants, reptiles, hog deer, and many different types of grassland birds. This is the home to numerous animals like crocodiles, tigers, chitals, dover, seagulls, cormorants, and woodpeckers. 2. The Jhirna Zone:

The Jhirna zone is the most prominent zone known for easy wildlife spotting. It is located at the southern corner and is around 16 km away from Ramnagar. It is known that the zone was a village once, which has now translocated to some other part. Therefore, leaving the zone to turn into a dense forest. By taking a safari across the Jhirna Park, tourists can easily spot cheetah, sambhar, elephants, sloth bears, and sometimes even tigers.


3. The Bijrani Zone:

This zone was recognized as the shooting zone before Corbett Park was founded. Its landscape is considerably different from Dhikala. The main attractions in the Bijrani zone are Malani, Semal Chaur, Cheetal Road, and Bijrani. The zone is located quite close to the Aamdanda Gate near the Ramnagar town. This zone is mostly recognized for the diverse wildlife and vegetation and also is one of the highest wildlife populated zones of the national park. It is still considered to be the hotspot for wildlife lovers. Tourists are allowed to take the Jeep or Elephant safari which Must-Visit remains open for visitors from October to June.

Though there are three other zones, namely Sitabani, Durgadevi, and Dhela. But these three are the most prominent ones which are visited by numerous tourists. These zones have rich wildlife and landscape. You can also prefer to visit the other zones of Corbett Park as they too have their attractions.
